Built on the member list
The directory is only as good as the last time someone updated it.
If your current directory is a page someone edits by hand, you know how it goes: the florist moved in March, the accountant retired, and the new brewery isn't there at all.
In Chamberly, the directory is built from your member records. Staff decide who's shown, members keep their own details current, and nobody retypes anything.
How a listing changes
Members write it. Staff approve it.
Self-service without losing control of what goes out under the chamber's name.
- 01 Member
Edits their listing in the portal
New hours, a new phone number, a better description. They make the change themselves, in the member portal.
- 02 Chamberly
Holds it for review
The change waits as a submission. The listing visitors see stays as it was until someone approves.
- 03 Staff
Approves it
Your staff check it and approve. Nothing goes public on the chamber's name without a person looking at it.
- 04 Your website
Shows the new version
The directory on your website reads from Chamberly, so the approved listing appears without anyone copying it across.
01Who's shown
Three states, all decided on purpose.
Your staff choose which members appear and which are featured. A member who doesn't want to be listed can opt out.
Chosen by staff to stand out in the directory. If your chamber sells featured placement, invoice it like anything else.
Shown in the directory under their categories, with the details they keep current from the portal.
A member who asked not to be listed. Still a member, with everything else intact.
02Categories
Categories that nest, like your town does.
A flat list of forty categories is hard to browse. Chamberly's categories can sit inside one another, so a visitor looking for somewhere to eat can start broad and narrow down.
You set up the categories that fit your business community. The example here is just an example.
- Food and drink
- Restaurants
- Cafés and bakeries
- Breweries and wineries
- Professional services
- Accounting
- Legal
- Health and wellness
- Fitness studios
03Hot deals and jobs
A reason for members to come back to the directory.
Members post offers for the community and openings they're hiring for, from the same portal where they edit their listing. Same rule as listings: staff approve before anything is published.
Hot deals
Member-to-community offers, submitted by the member and approved by staff. Each one has an end date.
Job board
Openings at member businesses, submitted and approved the same way, with the same end date rule.
They expire on your clock. A deal that ends on Friday comes down at the end of Friday in your chamber's time zone, not at midnight somewhere else.
04On your website
Your directory, on your domain.
Not a portal on someone else's site with your logo in the corner. The directory lives on your chamber's own website, read from Chamberly.
We build it for you
Every plan includes a new website for your chamber, designed and built by us, with the directory, events, blog and join form connected to Chamberly.
Or your agency does
Your agency builds on the REST API with a key scoped to what the site needs, revocable any time. Our MCP server gives their AI coding tools your branding and the API's shape, never member records.
Moving an existing directory
We bring your listings with you.
Send us an export from GrowthZone (ChamberMaster), MemberClicks or a spreadsheet. We import your members, plans and directory with you, and we map the fields. It's a service we do for you rather than an automated tool, so tell us early about anything unusual in your data.

What is business directory software for a chamber?
It's the part of your chamber's system that publishes member businesses to the public: who's listed, how they're categorized, and what each listing says. In Chamberly it's built on your member records, so a business that opts out, or that your staff unlist, comes off your website without anyone editing a page.
Who decides which members are listed?
Your staff. They choose which members are listed and which are featured, and a member can opt out of the directory entirely.
Can members update their own listings?
Yes, from the member portal. Their changes are submitted for staff approval, and the public listing only changes once a staff member approves it.
How do categories work?
Categories can be nested, so Restaurants can sit under Food and drink. You set up the categories that match your business community.
What are hot deals and the job board?
Members submit offers and job openings from the portal. Staff approve them before they're published, and each one expires at the end of its last day in your chamber's time zone, so an expired offer doesn't sit on your site.
Where does the directory appear?
On your chamber's website. We design and build a new site for your chamber on every plan, with the directory wired to Chamberly. If an agency runs your site, they can build the directory on Chamberly's REST API.
Will the directory improve our members' search rankings?
We don't promise search rankings; nobody can honestly. What we can say is that the directory lives on your chamber's own website, with listings your members keep current.
